We're still in Coolgardie since the BACWA (Bottles and Collectables of WA) dig. The weather has deteriorated considerably so we've been ducking out from our camp for an hour or so at a time.
We dug a few relics but Sandra will get to them once we've returned home and she's cleaned them up a bit.

I prefer to hunt down a few nuggets so we've spent a bit of time on that between showers. Yesterday started out with a little 0.43g piece with a little ironstone attached followed shortly after by a little sunbaker weighing 1.5g.

This morning we returned to the same spot but hardly got a signal apart from a couple of staples. After a short discussion on returning to the bus in preparation to leave we decided to continue detecting until the next shower. Fortunately we did.....

The second sunbaker. It doesn't look like it's been sitting there in the weather for the past few million years. It looks more like some poor unlucky person might have lost it. But.... finders keepers they say.... so I'm keeping it. My latest collectable :)

Nice find :p

Haha, diggit I have no problem spotting Silver's dragon. Even though we've got a muddy mess to negotiate I anxious to get back out there. Mrs M is not well this morning but has got out of bed to make sure I go and retrieve the big barrel I found yesterday ;)

Now that the GPX6000 has started to find gold I had to find a job for the GPX4500.

I now have a new (used) 40"x20" Anti Interference drag coil to hook up to it. I took it out for a walk a couple of days back and after hitting a couple of targets I realised that pin pointing with a 40" coil can be a little difficult so I dropped one of Mrs M's coloured ribbons on each target and attempted to return the following morning.

Id dragged the coil for 1.78km through scattered bush while trying to navigate my way around puddles and boggy patches. Trying to retrace my path wasnt easy but I eventually located my targets and found both to be junk. Ill have to work out a way to carry another detector to do the final dig once a target is detected ;)
