I reckon that you are all too high. If I had $$, then $451,000 would be my bid.

Hard to pick , Brock only placed third in that race and there are other cars he built that had higher profile wins , but this was his first Bathurst drive.

How long is a piece of string ?

Does it come with green slip and 12 months rego?
Just kidding!
I reckon $750,000.

Some years back, when I was getting married again (2nd time round), my "little" brother, who worked for a large Holden dealer, offered to organize a wedding car for me. Big surprise on the day when he turned up with a Peter Brock Commodore. :Y: :Y: :Y:

PabloP was closest with the guess of $ 451,000

Help me understand the bidding process, how did a bid placed am on the 24th beat a bid placed pm on the 25th. Appreciate the time diffence between east coast, west coast but this was a 36 hour difference. :(

Well that's a Shocker, I would of thought the history and the fact that it was Brocky's Car would have made a huge impact on the price, Even a standard GTHO Phase III are being sold for around that price let alone a piece of Racing History :8 :( 8.( 8.(

What i find noteworthy is how the "upper class" from Mosman and Double Bay featured in the top 5 bidders.

Since when does an HT Monaro get mistaken for a Porsche ?

Remember when "a melbourne crew" played the game a few years ago and got phase iii GTHO's pumped up to $ 800,000 - $ 1,000,000 each at auction....

Yeah I saw that, Those cars are worth a fortune now, Even the Chargers are claiming big bucks now, I had the chance to buy an E37/E38 for about $3999.00 back in 82 with Triple Webers and the 38/40 Gallon Tank etc I wish I had bought it, I have regretted not buying it ever since.

Good work.

It wont be the first fake or "incomplete genetics" to be sold at auction.

There was an "Ex Brock Torana" that was sold on Grays about 2 years ago , the same car got relisted and sold 3 times within a few weeks , presumably because the buyers found the collars didnt match the cuffs on that one as well.
