Hi All, been detecting around the playgrounds of the Central Coast with the kids over Christmas doing quite well, finding coins, 1 x half penny and a couple of rings.
the kids dug up a 1966 10 cent which we thought was pretty cool considering it was the first of the decimals I assume.
Kids were wondering if it had any value?
Any feed back appreciated.
Cheers Greg.

Canudigit if you clean it up good with a wire brush and take it to a shop,....they should get around 10c worth for it(less tax),...better off if they save up all the decimals they find and cash them in (except for the rare ones) and when they have enough money, go to a coin dealers shop and buy a 1966 10 cent proof coin etc as an investment for their hard work with just rewards. Just a thought.
Heres a couple of links.

I am keeping my first coin find, a 1980's 20 cent. Something to look back on, in my old age! So yeah, frame it for the kids or something :)

I've still got my moms first find bagged up and written on,...a threepence.
Not mine though,...I spent it just after finding it,...can't even remember what it was, but I know all up it was around $i.50 from a trip to the beach,...and I woulda bought lollies(cause I know me).
