Agree with Dr Duck. With my estimates of 40*25*13cm, this sucker should weigh around 1/4 tonne (250kg), not 16.4kg. Maybe the nugget did exist, but this is a replica, unless the guy had extraordinary strong biceps - doesn't look like it though.

It's only 16.1kg so if you scale the person down to the correct size of what the nugget that looks like a dirty rock is, He would be one small midget about 3 feet tall, which makes sense course he's struggling to pick up 16kg really? I'm not a big guy but 16kgs isn't heavy.

Does not look like gold to me. One tonne of gold is about 14" cubed, so old mate would have to be Hercules to hold it if it was a giant nugget.

Arr But that rock is about 90% Quartz, So that is why it is so big and most of the Gold is on the outside, You have to admit that is the biggest Specie we have seen in a while.

John.

I'm not sure how to find the story about it, But I won't call the bloke a liar, The picture bad and it is a bit hard to see any detail, It is what it is, and I don't know anymore than what is written on that page.
