Gonna take my rake as well, rake smallish areas, and go over it real slow. Might set it at very slow.
New headphones are SS300,s. Tried them a while ago, and they seem to lift those real freight ones a bit.
I also wanted a spare set in case something goes wrong with the set I have, the Kos phones that came with the 4500. I like them as well, but as I don't run speakers, I guess I need a back up pair as well.

Need to find a lot more yellow before I consider a Z! Goal tomorrow is 4 grams for a set of SS300 headphones.

I've thought the same about the Z but if it finds a lot more than the difference in price will soon be made up. The problem is "Will it find a lot more?" I don't think two people can compare each other's finds because we all perform differently. I would like to have one working right there beside my 4500 so that I could have a genuine comparison. Perhaps next year.... My son's father in law has one but he usually only finds nails and bullets :lol: I invited him out and gave him a swing over one I'd already located with the 4500 just to get him started. Since then he's found a 2g piece at Nullagine so he's pretty happy.

Well, I tried the SS300 headphones.
Well, they were a bit uncomfortable I thought. Reckon the Koss phones are better to wear.
At first, I thought they were no different in performance, I they are mono, not stereo, not sure if that makes a difference.
I did pick up quieter signals better with the SS 300, s. But that could also be because I had my machine running smoother to. I got 6 little nugs, this time compared to 3 last time, and it was over the same ground id already covered.
Hope the headset gets more comfortable with use, will test both sets of phones on the next target.
I think they do highlight quieter targets better than the koss phones.
