Last time we met at Creswick you were raving about the new 14" Elite. Do you find the 11" better?
Cheers Dig'n-it aka Andy from Creswick weekend
gday Andy, did you buy that lottery ticket? hope your luck has continued mate.
To be honest I was reluctant judge the coil against the 14 as i expected the same really and that's what ive heard form alot of other blokes around the traps,
"same as the 14 just smaller".
I actually doubt it alot of blokes who bought it have used it exclusively for a few days because ive found it to be a completely new coil which runs amazingly well in General which allows more depth and better mid range detection. Biggest learning curve is the massive overload response you get with this coil, it can really blow your ears off when using headphones, bit like the sdc.
The 14 i would run in deep and it was super sensitive on the small stuff, i didn't see any improvement in depth by running in deep with the 11 and i was able to crank things right up in general so so yep this is my new favorite but if i'm in an area with clear ground and want to cover a large area quickly i'll use the 14.
this is the junk i put in my pocket, i dont put rusty things or nails/wire in my pocket they go in the nearest tree stump or shaft, but the lead on the right and the button were both around 30 cm so it will get big gold no problem, the gold on the left was all got in this patch (3 x 3 mt max )

I just received my new 11" elite. Won't get to use it until just after Christmas. However, I'm having a week at Inglewood. Might be hot but I've got annual leave so got a leave pass from the family. Sold a few vintage watches I use to collect before getting into detecting. Also had enough left over to get a little Sony action camera which I'm picking up tomorrow. Hope to get some finds on video.
Thanks for your opinion on the 11" elite.
Have a great Christmas and New Year. Cheers
Its hard going out Blackwood. i only found a sub gram nugget out on Nuggety creek. Its hard yakka out there mate and with the tiger/brown snakes around in the main creeks, it can be a bit dodgy, good going tryhard.tryhard1968 said:Went out to Blackwood with Chukyboy and his mate Scott on Friday, had a great day in the heat and managed to score some nice reef and alluvial gold. I have called my Gold the Billygoat collection as you have to be a goat to get to it . The 3 pieces on the left are from an ancient river bed and the rest are from an old mullock heap with most pieces having to be smashed out of the quartz host.
