Part 2..

Wife took the 6000 off me so back to the Axiom.
Ended up staying overnight. Had another 6 digs identical to the previous posts pic, all for Bundaberg giver beer bottle tops… How lucky to get the shiny first dig..
However persevered through the rusty tin and other assorted junk all sub surface as rehabbed ground…
All with the exception of the big one and one other (plus 5 small bits for 2.6g not photographed) got with the Axiom.

A little chunk I pulled out of Tib awhile back, not huge but for Tib I was pretty happy with it... I felt like I was back in Canada on snow covered fields, the quartz is so abundant. Found this interesting piece on the same trip, wasn't sure if it was rock or petrified wood. My best capture of the entire trip was the picture at the end though, John, what a gentle soul smile.... some of you may know him, he was on the trip I was on... that picture/smile could be on a Tourism Australia poster.

WELL DONE!!!!!!

Looks like you have the Axiom dialed in. 🥰

A bad pic of gold is still better than a good pic of no gold! :D

1.9g.jpg

Yes, must be a bad photo. This 1.9g nugget is so shinny it looks false. It came from about 300mm down found today with the GPX6000, well Taz actually found it but I dug it. It was on a quartz ridge, the surface was hard but as soon as I scrapped the stones away it revealled that soft dark red soil that usually indicates just a noisy patch of ground. The only thing that made me dig further was that the detector sound was like a faint musical sound like we'll often get with a small piece of fine wire. It didn't give a proper signal until I'd dug down about 200mm and came to a small quartz reef.
