A little test I did,
I stripped 36m2 around the last 2 bits I got, with my pick scraped 6 runs, put a stick on all the subtle high/lows, 11 in total and all disappeared within 4".
I'm thinking the tail of the low needs to be longer with a bit of groan in it..
Nice find. Which state was this found in, champ?Found with a Trojan.View attachment 889
Funny story to it, my son and partner were metal detecting and decided to erect a bit of shade/shelter at their camp.
Digging post hole for the shelter this popped out.
They got a few more around it but this was the biggest.
Welcome back from the home country SL..... I’m sure your mind is free now to eventually turn up your perfect nugget.Went out yesterday with @deepblue at Talbot. Spent a few hours detecting and got nothing between us.
was great getting out though.
went back today for a few hours and managed to find a smidgen of a bit.
I feel a bit inadequate after the bit @Harald Hardrada posted up.
It's the right colour at least.
Thanks OA. Minds ok. It's the bung knee slowing me down. I can bend but not kneel. So it'll be a while till I get KnightedWelcome back from the home country SL..... I’m sure your mind is free now to eventually turn up your perfect nugget.
Don't worry about the purists bloke .......................... great story and all related to the same questSold our caravan a couple of years back but with the gold bug gnawing at me bought a used campervan to resume some more far ranging trips to the goldfields.
Took the camper on a shakedown trip for three nights to Dunolly (a mere 30Ks from our place at Daisy Hill) just in case something was wrong that required a quick trip home.
Well couldn't get gas to the stove or fridge, the previous owners didn't leave us with a power lead and to boot I left the camper instructions at home.
A quick trip back to Maryborough for a power lead but even that didn't fit as the power sockets on the camper were of the older type and had to pare down the flange on the bought one to make it fit.
We are getting older and found sleeping in the extended bed awkward with me chivalrously taking the outerplace but then being trapped in when I needed a pee in the middle of the night.
Anyway the camper is now on the market and we are looking for a caravan now.
PS The gas problem was that I didn't know about the gas line valves underneath the camper.
PS I almost forgot that this is a topic about show and tell and the trip wasn't a complete disaster with about 3 grams found
Awesome we'll done mate!Easter bunny left a nice little 24 gram egg for me today Now thats Happy Easter and hope he's left some more tomorrow
