Well done.Went out again today, this time with a friend who has vastly more experience at detecting and where best to go than I do - and I found my first two pieces of gold. I was so excited when I got down to those last few bits of gravel expecting to see another piece of lead shot and could almost not believe my eyes when I saw a tiny piece of gold. It weighed in at 0.13 grams. The second piece I found quite a few hours later and it weighs 0.11 grams. Not huge pieces but Im happy with that.
Thank you everyone who told me to dig every target - I did that today, found a lot of rubbish and got a few blisters, but I also found my gold.
I bet a few will be trying now, now that your secret is out. Lol.The best place I have found gold is in old open mine shafts that have drives coming off them. You don't have to go all the way in, just detect the floor for anything dropped. No ones else seems to do it.

The old railway lines tend to stuff up the detector signal a bitI bet a few will be trying now, now that your secret is out. Lol.
Might be because they don't have a canary or a lit candle handy at the timeThe best place I have found gold is in old open mine shafts that have drives coming off them. You don't have to go all the way in, just detect the floor for anything dropped. No ones else seems to do it.

Thanks to everyone who attended the Amherst meet up, it was a great weekend.
Plenty of shotty pellet with many in the dreaded Kinder Despise, but I did get two in the Kinder Surprise.

what you don't own enough shotty pelletsNice, hopefully I’ll find what you left behind. Heading there next weekend.
Been in the Pilbara detecting for a while as a hobby. If I had to live off it I would be as skinny as a rake, but enjoying every moment of it. Just survived a summer and looking forward to get out there now it is cooler. Using a GPX 5000 with a NF 17 x 11 elliptical coil.
Take some spray for the bush flies!Nice, hopefully I’ll find what you left behind. Heading there next weekend.
