Hi All,

As a follow on from my message the other day here are the original pieces before I crushed one half, I wanted to keep one sample in host rock
as it gives an excellebnt indication of the mineralisation occurring alonside the gold. I use these samples as indicators in the field when looking for
similar occurences. Hope you enjoy, as you will see the gold content is very thick as per the crushed and panned sample.

Two more,
all in the same wash. Bottom one was just a tiny squeak.https://www.prospectingaustralia.com/forum/img/member-images/10069/1596184611_img_20200731_183443.jpg
Nice work mate, strip it all :perfect:

Ground cover/leaf litter is nil to several inches thick, ironstone and grey clay cpl mms to cpl inches, then orange gravel wash to country rock 6 inches to at least foot and half, could be much deeper in parts.

Deepest out so far is 9 inches into the clay wash roughly (hard to tell, which is why I view recovery depth quoted with a grain of salt) all the way up to the surface.

Bigger coils should find something deeper, its all virgin with reefy and specis at the top and waterworn further down, top of slope to bottom runs about 150m give or take.

Dont know why the old boys missed it, they certainly worked the surrounding area, just got lucky finding the first bit, which all came about talking to a bloke who lives local and was familar with the area. Looked like good ground, top of the hillside runs in the same line as two worked reefs one to the east, one to the west (which is typical here but usually runs N/S in Vic goldfeilds).

These are near the bottom, top is overgrown and wooded with a canopy, further down it opens up and is exposed, much more ironstone, very little leaf cover and dotted trees and being on the South edge of the hillside the prevailing winds and weather comes from the west and south.

Went out today with my young bloke picked up 14 bits 7 with his 7000 2 with the sdc and got 5 more when we removed some spinefex was hard yakka but worth it my purpose built take copped a hammering from the rocks in the spinifex cheers Muk.

The top photos are of my best piece to date. It came out of a specie I found a little while back. The other pic is what I melted down of my little pieces from the last 2 years. I hope this inspires people to keep trying and keep the coil close to the ground. This is a great hobby. The Australian bush can be a really sole healing place. Gold is the bonus. Peace people. :Y:
