Give it a bath because I think it will clean up real nice. Keep an eye on it and pull it out when you get the look without it breaking up. Look forward to meeting you at the PA camp. Will be keen to shake your hand in hope a bit of your good fortune rubs off ..... lol layful:
Thanks for the advice brother. Thats a good idea because it is a good looking bit. Maybe just 3 or 4 hours and then take it out.
Same here looking forward to meeting everyone Saturday night.
Already packed the beers lol
Giving the specimen a hydrochloric acid bath as per suggestions. Hoping I dont wreck it.
Gave my half ouncer a good scrub with soapy water and a toothbrush. Going to leave it as is as I think its got character.
PET plastic is fine with HCL and HF.
NG. I would give them both an acid bath. Some nuggets look great with some iron, but I reckon yours would look better if you could see the embedded quartz!
Couple of hours out patch hunting...Trying new areas...
This one 2k from an old gold mine in an area I picked on the Geo maps as a "should have" gold spot. It has gold !
My new PB!
I dont think I put these up in July when I found them. I did a trip out bush with my mate from WA for four nights. The result was just short of an ounce between us. Great trip. Detectors were Minelab 4500 with Coiltek 14 inch mono Elite and a Minelab 5000 with a Nugget Finder 14x9 evo coil. It has taken a while to learn the 4500 but Ive got a bit of a handle on it now and Im really happy with how it performs. Regards Rick
