38c humidity 75% i was feeling a little woosey no breeze at Deep creek today ended up lying down in my hole....finaly feeding samatha some classified material she shows me some colour straight away!! Yeah nekmit bam!! Looks like a 3 grama...

Is that a piece of "mushroom"-looks like-gold?
I think its a gold plated press stud button mabey 1920,s. Found a bone mabey human....and a bottle worth $75..or so.
Mate be careful out there heat stroke is not something to take lightly. Take care.

Npt gold but a nice sample none the less
got out for a sneaky run through the drywasher for 10 mins this morning while walking the dog.... nice little piece only went .07 on the scales but looks like a mushroom

And at the other end of the spectrum - 7hrs for this Snowy River Au, garnets and a tiny sapphire. And thats highbanking - wont be going back. But as GT says it is good to have Au from as many locale as you can find ( your own Au DNA library). Hot and hard was the order of the day, by about af 2 I was fading fast, throwing the crowbar like a soft cityslicker (lol). Blow me down, didn't see a snake all day.

Same here, I love the stories and the pictures, doesn't matter how big or small the find, as most of us can appreciate the excitement and rush that one gets when gold is found. And showing appreciation also encourages others to share and post their finds.

Ok. So my experience of prospecting is panning for gold as a child at Shantytown, NZ (where the gold is planted in a pan) and then recently at Sovereign Hill where I was simply trying to remember the technique!
This weekend I headed out with a friend (who has never gold panned) to Slaty Creek and then Sailors Creek. Talk about the blind leading the blind! :lol:
We had so much fun and are both keen to head out again.
With no further ado may I present my first ever panned 'wild' non planted gold!
