Showing gold pics to prospectors. Like taking candy from a baby!!!!!!!!

Not quite alluvial but awesome just the same. Specimen gold in quartz.

Gives you an idea of the difference between free gold and water worn travelled gold.

i love it.... love my gold specimens never sell them or crush them they all live in a little jars so i can look at them like this.... thanks for the share RS

I sometimes think about crushing them to see how much the gold is in them and then weigh it all up, but once they are crushed there gone.

exactly, if its was big enought that would make a difference is acid soak it to preserve the thing but its not the same is it.

Came across this deep lead on the side of a bush track in my travels on the weekend, it was about 400m up one almighty gully, so a well and truely extinct river system.

I had enough time to dry sieve half a bucket of sand and was rewarded with a nice show of colour when I panned it out in front of some newbies later in the day.
