Going through my samples of rocks i bought home from my recent trip and found this
1601866655_webp.net-resizeimage-7.jpg

I have a couple of questions
1. What type of host rock is it?
2. I recently purchased a new gold monster. I scanned it and it only just registers on the goldmonster and nearly gives a solid ferrous signal. How small a piece of gold can it detect?
Any input appreciated

I didn't find it with the monster. It was in my classifier and bought it home and once I seen the gold i detected it. It gave a strong ferrous signal and occasionally giving a weak non ferrous right on top of the coil. Ive put in about 25hrs on the monster and starting to think maybe there is something wrong with the coil because it struggles to pick up some of my pickers which range from 0.1-0.2g

Some nice yella stuff left behind by the old timers in their tailings
Spent a week in the bush with some great blokes and great weather
Thanks Dave and Clint. Had a great time and some good laughs
This is the reason I joined this forum. To meet likeminded people and learn as much as I can. This trip certainly resulted in that.
The gold is just a bonus
Can't wait for the next one
Happy days :D

that was a great weeks camping!
Ate like kings, dug like dogs, drank like fish!
Best company of blokes ever!
Banjo and I did a "till stumps" night, and the magpies and kookaburras where singing at sun up!
Digging a couple of hours later...
Hella, 1000 is also a fantastic bloke to meet up with, genuine as they come!
Planning next trip already with them.
Inviting two unknown newbies out for a camp is a gamble...
But one i take without regret!
Both Banjo and Hella are true blokes you can swear by.

Spent a couple of hours at one of my favourite spots an hour from home.

Panned down to the cons at the site and took it home to go through it with a fine tooth comb, so I could get through more dirt at the time.

All extremely fine stuff. But a good day out. Haven't done it for ages because of the 2020 factor - LOL!
