Hi Folks I'm new to this gold fossicking game. Have a few spare hours a day as I get older and work less. I'm just a casual worker anyway. Since it is quite often too windy to go fishing I needed another hobby. Have been to the legal places in SA and did a trip to Tibooburra recently. It took 4 days to tune my ears and on the last day I found a 1.07 gm plus 4 bits. I like to travel and figured swinging a detector in new places is the go. Hopefully as I travel I will have positive reports to share. Cheers Cobalt.

Hey Mate,
Never been to Tib detecting myself but have heard its mostly tiny gold so a gram plus piece would be a great find, well done.
I have done all the SA public spots a fair bit for pretty limited success, travel the extra distance and head to Vic or over West, if you put in time and effort there should get better rewards plus a holiday and some different scenery.
Not sure were in SA you reside but golden Triangle is literally only 5 or 6 hours drive from Adelaide, good for an extended weekend trip and options galore

Lord - I'm Port Adelaide way - have been to Jupiter 4 times and have met some very nice knowledgeable prospectors who have shown me photos of their finds there in the past and have provided encouragement. I'm picking up the lead shot at this time but was shown a recent 1.6 by a young fella there the other Monday. Only been to Mount Crawford twice but intend to get a yearly pass. The Golden Triangle is to be visited in the near future but I would like to do more research on the area. Thanks for tip.
