Found this odd-looking thing while gold detecting in Whipstick. Has a grey outer shell and copper-coloured insides-can anyone help ID?

Yep, not ferrous though.

spot on. Whipstick is the location of an old rifle range. found along rifle range road.

A full metal jacket projectile wouldn't normally expand like that, most likely a soft nose projectile.
