Nice job mate. Where did you get the cable tray? I have asked in few electrical supply shops but no luck.
 
Looking good mate, I had to look twice as I thought it was a Wal produced unit at first.

Keep us posted with the build progress.

L&H in lilydale have it. They are just up the road from Mc Donalds on Maroondah rd
Comes in a 2.4m length. It's about $30

The cable tray come from a electrical supplier but they only had it in 150mm wide lengths.
All I had to do was rivet it together then cut to size.
I made it with aluminum angle and rivets to give it that "olde look"

Can hardly wait to try it.

Thanks Kane. I am going to change the classifier on my banker as you suggested last time we caught up. I considered grizzly bars but I think tha cable tray will work the best.
I will build my self a walbanker just like this one some time soon. I love the simplicity and performance of it. Judging by all the posts there must be dozens of them. :)

Nice bit of handy work there, hoping it catches the yellow for you mate, looks great, gotta love the rivet.. best thing for joining aluminium if you dont have the expertise to weld the stuff.

One of the reasons that I made the hopper like that is because I made it removable.

Just noticed a few single squares in the crate. As Wal may advise, try to not have any singles as the singles can clog up quickly.

I can weld aluminum with a tig but I could not justify buying a bottle of argon just for this job. :) :)
I have got some Durafix that works really well but I could not be bothered joining the miters with it.
I will be attaching some stiffeners along the edges of the sluice section as I made it all out of 1.2 to save on weight.
will put up a photo of the finished unit after I "Polish" it this weekend.
All I now have to do is source a pump.

I know that and thanks. :) :)
If you hold the bread crate up and look down it there is not one straight path that the water can take. I also left a few in for strength.
Oh well, If it goes south I will have to use my red crates.
Will be much faster. LOL
 
Just having a look at the single photo a few posts up, I would look at getting a couple of lengths of 30mm angle, attaching them to the bottom of the top mesh to act as braces / supports, kill two birds with one stone, they should stop the sides flaring out too much near the mid section and by the look of it, you will only need a one meter length.

Just a thought.

I have had it out and yes it catch's gold. I have tweaked a few things with the Banker and it just gets better and better. :)
I am about to clean out a nice little spot down the coast so I will be putting up a video and posting what I find.
I have nearly completed my Miller Table so it is all systems go shortly.
I will keep you all posted. ;)
 
You don't have to weld a lot of things with today's glue, those alumium rails underneath could be glued with sticker flex/urethane can be picked up at any windscreen place for $20 a big tube you can glue anything together with 2 flat surfaces but it's messy so wear gloves. They glue the hinge onto tractor cabin doors and windows with it so that saying something.

Nice work by the way' I'd love to build one but I've got a shed full of projects as it is'
