IP doesn't mean squat in the international marketplace we now live in. I know that seems like a harsh thing to say but it is reality. The moment you post anything that works and people want it then unscrupulous people will seek to have it made offshore. Because the patent process near bankrupted you already you won't be in a position to fight the infringers that made enough changes to make their product stand up on its own or just don't give a rats.

Good luck mate, if it works and it's affordable you'll find a market

you need patent two types one that covers Australia only or world one cost me ten grand for my application Australia only then they said no some words I used had been used in different setup make sure you check other inventions and use different words good luck it is not easy and may take you a while and cost a lot of money don't mean to put you off but a lot of work needs to be put in to it I suggest legal advice people specialise in this sort of thing good luck hope you do better than me :)

Gee I can't spend big money , will have to think of another way to market this or just sell the idea with a working prototype bugger :8
Thanks for your advice .

try doing it your self and you will save a lot of money there is a lot of detail on the web don't give up just be aware it is not easy :)

Talk to a company like keene or garrets or a local manufacturer if you can find one. They may have an intrest and could posdibly buy your invention from you. Just make sure you get royalties on future sales..

Just a thought

Tone

Love to just show it off but need to re-coop the costs involved & huge personal part I've put into this for so long , all the past units were not up to the dream :/ but this can do what nothing else can !

Been there, and nothing in the wallet.
My mistake talking to Engel back when they were the early "yellow" models and not making an agreement.
Still have the "black box" that I named it to automatically switch to 12Volt when the 240Volt was disconnected.
The next model that hit the stores had auto changeover from 240V to 12V and vice versa.
One dollar in every sale would have been a millionaire bonus. 8.(

See your point Nightjar , verbal trust is a rhetorical form of bull shitting until water tight contracts are signed .
Sad to hear what happened to you .

Don't bother with patents minimum spend of $30,000 to establish one just to cover Australia. You have to repeat the process for each country you want to cover. A lawyer once advised me not to bother as it would just make the lawyers rich. Just be content to flood the market with it. The power comes from your brand and by being the first. The copycats will come thick and fast so just beat them with quality product. Look at minelab, lightforce as examples of companies that did this. Don't put good money after bad, just make sure to use the media to make the fakes obvious to everyone and highlight the outstanding quality of your product. Good luck with it hope it makes you a motza. :)

Had a gut feel the patent cost was just not worth it as these days as China seems immune & can reproduce anything !

My problem is each one of these units takes so much time to make , there somewhat complicated to produce , could never come close to even supply more then a few per day even with all the full metal shop gear .

Maybe I'm stuffed then what ever way I go
