It really is quite interesting how much history certain places have that people just seem to completely look over. This park that I went to yesterday in particular was a prime example. Wasn't expecting much since I just assumed it would've been extensively detected in the past due to its location, but I knew it did date back a while ago so I gave it a shot hoping for at least a penny or some decimals. The results however were quite pleasing for the amount of work I put in (About 2 hours) and there is still detecting opportunities there for me in the future still.

Here are the results: 1x 1942 Three pence, 1x 1911 Penny, 1x 1922 Half Penny, 1x 1944 Penny, 1x 1943 Half Penny, $19 in lunch money and a silver ring. Also around 15 one and two cents :p Also haven't yet gotten around to cleaning any...

Good job, I reckon as soon as you start picking up 1 & 2c coins, you know you are in with a chance of finding some pre-decs, especially if there are some older ones coming out of the ground. :)

Had a giggle - SA Bogan found the same ring earlier this year on the beach but yours is in better condition - some nice finds there!

3 more hours at the same park today yielded 2 pennies a half penny a six pence and about $10. Also around double the amount of 1 and 2 cents from last time. :|

I'll post some photos of all the stuff I've gotten so far from the park out of I think 4 hunts. Probably in a few hours. By the way I use a Garrett AT Pro, getting a smaller coil for christmas. ;)

Here's all the collective loot from the park, excluding the decimal coinage (around $50). Some of the pennies are a bit tarnished because I forgot about them in the vinegar... Woops! :p

Also an interesting belt buckle from 1988, made in the USA.

You putting a lot of us to shame with those great finds, well done! Certainly looks like you have a great producing spot to detect in, now where did you say that spot was again? ;)
