I often see SS yabby pumps going relatively cheap in garage sales and actually have one myself that has been sitting in my garage for yonks.
Have sometimes thought about making up some sort of reduction nozzle for the end made out of PVC fittings to convert it to a gold suction pump.
Wondering if anyone may have done this?

instead of PVC geoff i went with rubber reducing fittings ,stays tight and easy to switch

you may need a bit of rubber grease to get the first fitting on the yabby pump it is bloody tight ,next rubber fitting just a standard reducing fitting ,all bought from the local plumbing supplie shop

one note if the fingers are a bit short you will struggle to adjust the expanding seal at the bottom of the yabby pump ,you should be good to go geoff
you can trim the black rubber fitting down a bit if you have to

I made my Yabbi Pump & Extension (which just pushes on and off) using PVC piping, sticky tape and not much more. All purchased from Bunnings. It works a treat and probably cost about $40 to make:
