Xterra 705 finds

Well ive been hitting the penny paddock quite hard the last few days using all metal mode to try and sniff out a silver or two amongst all the junk...with every swing you get at least 6 to 10 hits 99.9 is junk...Well only found 3 crusty pennys in the last few days...using the all metal mode...And doing that for to long could really send you mad..with the constant beeping....Well i set the Terra to what i call Jewlery...gold coin..and old coin mode...i use this in parks that i have never been to before...I thought i would leave penny paddock and head to the sand pit...that my daughter uses to lundge her horses...Was in there no more than 5 mins and got another crusty penny......two steps later i got another half penny

Out of all the pennies ive found here only 1 is half decent...some are just copper disks.......so i walked to the other side of the sand pit and started to swing ...using my jewelery..gold coin and old coin mode..... and got a solid 40 on the terra ...Another crusty penny i thought......so out with the pick and started digging like a mad man....Now the sand pit is about 6 inches deep in most parts....but under the sand is the hardest ground...thats why i was using the pick....as i put the pinpointer in it was a constant beep ....and this is what i saw

Couldn't belive it..BOOM BABY...my first florin...and i smacked it with the pick on the edge next to my middle finger...it looks much worse when your holding it..

finally got my first florin And two feet from that got another good signal ...this time it was my first shilling

But this time extraction was slow...as i thought it might be another florin...but was just as happy to see my first shilling as well

today hunt results after 2hrs swinging...

Cheers B5...I was starting to think the 3 sixpences were all that was there....I swung for 2 hrs today and got the two Silvers i was looking for in the last 15 mins of the hunt...It seems surreal.....I so wanted to find both of those coins.. Made my day

best first find silvers I've seen all day Smokey ,... really glad you got on a coin spill roll with em ,.... everything else pales into the distance once you get on the good gear like that hey !

It is a shame you nicked the florin ,its a bit of a sinking feeling when you realise what youve just done

Hi guys...had a hunt.... in the now called ...Silver sand pit...gridded half of it for another Shilling and 3 thrippies......Hope theres a sovereign there somewhere

this is the finds for 2 afternoon hunts in the Silver Sand pit..

Reasonably low mintage that 1934 thrippy, not real low but getting there, 2.8m minted.
