These are some of the things that i have found over the last few weekends (not including a lot of rubbish) at a new permission. This spot was most recently a WW2 airfield, and before that, three cattle properties. So i'm getting a mix of agricultural and military items from about 1900 to 1950. The WW2 stuff i'm finding between three to five inches, and the older stuff seven to eight inches.
The half penny was about 8 inches down, and under the hard packed earth of the area adjacent to the airfield apron.
The 1941 1/4 G was a very pleasant surprise. I'd never seen one before and after half an hour on google i had a better idea what i had found. Has anyone else found these?
Well that's it for now and I expect that any more finds will have to wait until the winter fires have burnt off the spear grass and weed. A good wet season has made most local areas difficult to access and search. Until next time. Karlos.
