I bet she didn't try it for 1 hour or more all up. You need to research locations before going out, look at Google maps and research areas online by looking at locations in old photos. Then you will start finding stuff.

Taking the time to learn how the detector works properly is the main thing. I've put 100+ hours into my CTX and I'm still learning, it's never ending when it comes to detectors.

More of a reality check than the worlds worst hobby, expecting too much too soon and with no experience to speak of. Maybe someone should have sat her down to actually learn what good targets sound like, rather than digging sewer pipes in front yards. :|
