John,

There have been isolated reports of small amounts of gold in the Wollondilly. The rev Clarke noted small amounts back in the 1850's

You can find more info in his book, published in 1860 Researches in the Southern Gold Fields of New South Wales. which can be downloaded here:

You can search the text to find all the references to the Wollondilly and other places, but the Rev Clarke notes that gold exists in "small quantities."

Another report again hints that gold was small and sparse on the Wollondilly.

Apart from a brief excitement of a week or two on the Run 'o Waters Creek in Goulburn,

I don't know of any gold fields or rushes for the Wollondilly. That is not to say you won't find anything, but you might be better starting off at Tuena, Oallen or somewhere where there is a better chance of finding something.
