GoldTarget,

All suggestions welcome.

I like your idea and will start to design some form of header box maybe with a few levels of mesh, I'm thinking:

1. Heavy rubber lid to contain the energy of the pump input and force it down through the sheets.
1. 3/8" perforated sheet, Material caught here would wash onto the self classifying tray or if oversize could be wiped off.
2. 1/4" mesh. Material caught here would wash onto the top self classifying tray. The material, sub 1/4" would fall directly into the bottom intake of the sluice (breadboard ). and would, therefore, go through the full natural classifying.

All suggestions welcome.

My main concern would be to stop clogging, maybe have mesh on angle, slopping towards classifier tray, this way the flowing water would push through mesh helping move it.

P.S I know I should build a HighBanker but I just want t get this working.

In the original post i was going to suggest pumping in on the uphill, not down, against the flow. Obv testing would find out if this causes clogging issues but should simplify the flow issue instead of adding velocity it will negate before flowing through. Multi layer screening is difficult, I've been down this path, using a tier so (if I'm interrupting this correctly) you will need removable screen not fixed, otherwise jamming will almost certainly occur. Better to stage it in series along a horizontal rather than tiered vertically imo. I'll try and get a photo up of what i had in mind for a classifier i built that will suit your purpose that has two levels, but its not as simple as it first seems, some of my earlier high banker designs were far better in series than tiers.

I think you have a great machine mate just need to get that input and clogging issue sorted. I wish i could find the link of a vertical classifier set up over a sluice like yours it was hands down the smartest design I've seen, I'll keep trolling my history to see if i can find it for you.
