I've got a Burke & Wills about 25 years old full length. It seems to have shrunk over the years anyone know why they do that :)

Yeah they have a built in shrink program so you have to go back and buy a new one, I hate it when that happens, hate it, hate it ]:D

Yup the three of us all put on weight in 25 years

i went from 92 cm waist to 107 , cant blame DrizAbone shrinkage for that.

Mine is 20 years old, calf length. Yes it's heavy and you can overheat wearing one.

But, they are great when the temp is near zero, the wind is howling and it's "fishing" down with rain.

I also have a sleeveless vest, great when dry and cool round the campfire.

When I was 30 odd I was 81/84cm waste and now I'm 91cm, that's not too bad, I can still see me feet without leaning forward, LOL

Yep
I have a full length drizabone, bought it around 1998.
I know how to fold and roll it up into the shoulder cape and tying it off with the under arm straps.
Smells a bit now though.
Thought it was mildew but never stored it wet and have hung it in the sunlight, plus turned inside out equally.
Still 'pen and inks' a bit. Perhaps a re-oil would help which begs the question " how do I do this?"
I did see a spray on application once but didn't think much of its serviceability (?)
Love it for walking the gullies with my leather titfer on wet no detect days...
Cheers
Wilko.

Don't use the spray on junk. Buy the proper Wax from any saddler shop, or any stores that sells the Coats.

Re-proofing is easy, get someone else to put the coat on and get your self 2 pieces of cotton sheet type material and get a tin of the proofing wax and dip one in the wax and rub it firmly in to all the seams first and then do the panels and then re do the seams and do the panels again and hang it up on a coat hanger in the shade some place and that should do it, Just make sure you put a load on anywhere there is stitching and rub it well in Ok, Because the water will only try and come in where the stitching Is, :Y:

If it has any marks on it wipe them off with a damp cloth and let the areas dry before you put the wax on,

Hope that helps

Wilko, this stuff is for car upholstery & works good on all types of jackets if they get a bit musty smelling.
Any similar product for upholstery would do the job I reckon
Note, its not a water-proofer

I must be lucky, I bought a Suite when I was 18, it still fit me at the age of 55. I ended up retiring it as I figured a brown, double breasted pin stripe was not coming back into fashion. I was 6' tall @ 67 kg when 18 YO, now near 70 YO I'm 69-70 kg, the extra 2kg must be the wife's cooking, lol. I kinda wear clothes out rather than replace due to not fitting anymore.

My biggest clothing adjustment, is to let my belt out a notch at the end of Xmas day, then take it back in again on boxing day. :)

Bloody braggart condor :) Good luck to you. Got a mate like you, he can still wear his clothes from 70s.
I'm 107 but would never have been able to get into 92 cm My problem these day is across the shoulders as well as that which hangs out the front held up with my belt

Still have my full length Thomas Cook, heavy and bloody warm, wore out my thigh length, got stiff as a board and frayed badly, loved it on the farm as the day coat in winter.

Used to wear the full length occasionally when walking Rigby in the winter rain here on the coast, got some strange looks from the folks from the smoke, me all rugged up with an Akubra and the long coat, recon I had the last laugh though :) Warm and dry :Y: Never part with it!

Used to be a factory south of Brisbane that made and also re-conditioned them, don't know if it's still there, have to check.
