Hi All,

Worse the local told us the new detector was $10500 paid for by the local centrelink as a CDEP employment incentive/project, Eric still gets the dole regardless of success or failure.

Kindest Bob

Are you f%^&ing serious ? Or is this just another rumour ?
If true , I am so over this ******** !
I am busting my arse 9 hours a day fencing and trying to save up for a bloody $1000 detector , while everything gets handed to these *******s !

Welcome to australia hahaha

Hello Fellow Detectorists,
Picked up the new Nugget Finder Sadie Coil, and using the recommended settings for the TDI from fellow TDI owners, thank you.
I can now detect .28g on the surface, my test nugget. Easily detect a .5g sample. Unfortunately in the past week since swinging the Sadie have not detected and dug anything under .5 gram. My detectoring mate Steve has departed. Purchased at the Commercial Hotel Meeka a GPZ7000 from a gentleman named Seraphin for 32gram
of bits and a 6 pack of EMU. All still in the cartons. Steve after one days use, returned south for 2 weeks, Has it for sale in Perth for $9500 I think on Gumtree. Steve and I swing, all day, every day. (When not in Perth). Steve reackons he will stick with his 5000 for the present. The 7000 is just too heavy for him also, sopping wet he would go 60KG.

For those weight lifters out there, I don't care how you relieve the weight, be it 7.5KG or as Steve tells me fully loaded up closer to 12KG, Physics are that no matter how you remove the weight from your arm, Your body is still carrying the extra weight, at a minimum 7.5KG (the actual unit.)
That is more than 10% of my entire body weight. Also I guess if some local indigenous mob, bulk buy 50 units, they get a discount. If your White trash like you and me, you pay full price!
Our mate Eric is still trying his luck. Has dug 17gram since being given the unit. A decent bloke, we have invited and shared a dinner.

Steve got real lucky because Seraphin doesn't have a driving licence, also told Steve the detector thing, was no good for him, he has no electricity to charge the battery, they turned off his power in 2012. They should pay him compensation for doing that?
The missus and I will push on, passed my findings on the Sadie and settings on to Dean today, the Sadie is way superior to the Coil Tech 6" in every respect.
The settings recommended by TDI owners valid. Thank You again.

A real mystery the two detectorists missing 140km South of us at Tabletop, Sandstone. Called of the search???????? Bloody hell a search of only 14 Km radius of their campsite.
I walk up to 20Km in a day and back? I think they have become disoriented by the complete overcast we have been experiencing, and continued to walk in the wrong direction? Maybe 50Km from their campsite? Sad. But water is plentiful so still hope.
Good Hunting to all.

I got ripped off, bloody hell, more than half of my 7000 must be missing, I only have 3.3kg of it.

Hi Redfin,
My apologies, just realized I am thinking Lb and writing KG. The 7000 is 7.5approx lb and Steve fully kitted out is 12 lb. With the 5000 he is at 8lb.
We carry Thuraya prepaid Sat Phone/GPS units , water, Pick etc. I am currently packing 7lb all up with the white tdi.

extra weight means you are getting fitter lol, suppose it means less room for all the gold ya find, might not make it back to the car,
as you don't want to off load any of the gear or nuggets hahaha.

everyone has there set ways and if the 7000 does not work for a person thats there choice, just wish i had the dosh to buy the 7k and swing
it around and decide it was not for me hahaha.

Seems to me that in that rocky area the SDC would be the GO TO Machine as it loves small gold and the coil is small enough to get around them rocks??

Is this a TDI thread still?

Yes, But Seeing As The other ML machines have been Mentioned quite often I did not think anyone would Take offense, Obviously I was Wrong. It won't Happen Again !!!

Hi All,
I promised an update on the TDI with the 8"x 6" Sadie Nugget Finder Coil.
Firstly I made up a set of weights from .1g up to 1g so as to check out responsiveness under controlled conditions.(see pic)
The recommended Sadie coil is certainly the superior coil over the standard TDI coil and the Coiltec 6" round.
With the settings advised, gain to half, ground balance, flick to Low conductivity, crank gain to full, reduce threshold until just quiet
is certainly the best for results. However in very hot areas have found that increasing the pulse rate to bust above 10 to about 10 1/2
removes hot rock response to a fair degree.
Results with my TDI, anything below .3g cannot be reliabily detected. .4g probable .5g unmissable.
All testing was made with the test weights in heat shrink buried 2cm deep, ground tamped down then left overnight to settle.

Of interest met another detectorist using the Garret ATX I think it is designated and wow was I impressed by this unit.
Except the weight, again felt heavy to me at 3.3kg.
Although only watched it in operation for 10-15 minutes. Easily pulled a bit just below .2g

I am now relocating about 900km for the next 2 months detecting. With the TDI.

In the past 2 months have witnessed one only bit of 1gram located, all other bits ( over 80 ) all less than .2g most around .1g

My TDI..... no gold in two months work every day. 3 weeks with the Sadie coil.

All gold was detected with the 5000 (and saw the Garret pull 1 bit.)

On the completion of this years detecting I have decided to sell the TDI and accessories.
Hire a Garret and try to adjust to the additional weight.
If I can will purchase that Garret as my next affordable detector.

Great finds to all.

Very clever, those shrink-wrapped test pieces of gold. :)

However, I must say they look like bicycle valves - or condoms for over-sexed guinea-pigs. :| <very serious face>

Hi All,

Arrived Marble Bar Monday, and the White TDI with Sadie coil easily pulled this .47g bit using the advised settings, but once again with the pulse scan just off the stopper,
approx. 10.4. Cuts out the hot rock responses totally.

Leaving Marble Bar for the Duchess field.
Will need to let the acid do it's thing to reveal total finds.
Found those helpful forum members settings for the TDI spot on.
Wore out the Sadie skid plate in 7 weeks working just 3 hours a day.
Pick up my replacement on the way from Dean now.
Marble bar is certainly a scenic location . And a perfect winter climate 18c overnight and 29c days.

Great Success to all.

Great looking species Bob. I must admit that I would be putting them in the brag cabinet rather than having at them with acid.

Marble Bar is on my visit list around this time next year, so any tips for the area would be welcome.

Rob.
