Tis where I am, Tis where I'll stay!
Cept for a few travel holidays :)

Beautiful up around Talbot today, blue skies about 23 degrees. Wind was up and blowing but still great being outside.

I've been sitting here with the ute packed hours ago watching youtube clips of detecting around the Vic GT in anticipation for my alarm to wake me at 4am.
This time tomorrow I'll be sitting around a camp fire reflecting on my first ever day detecting in the gold fields, then looking forward to a better day on Sunday when I'm meeting up with another prospector and detect together, all I can do now is hope tomorrow hurries up and I get some sleep tonight.
My mind is full of expectation of what might be over the weekend but the best I can hope for is that all goes well without any unforeseen drama, anything else is just a bonus.

Anywhere but moving house, as it really sucks! No detecting for a week or so thanks to all my gear being packed away (starting to get withdrawal symptoms already). :(

Dying to know how it went? Hope you're having a ball.

Thanks Goldtarget, had a great time and learn't so much over the 2 days that will keep me in good stead for future trips and really gave me a great head start to my gold field detecting.
Yesterday I ran the MXT Pro for most of the day and finding plenty of .22 shells along with other various junk then swapped over the the TDI SL after taking possession of it in the afternoon, spent about 3 hours in the arvo with it then a few hours this morning, plenty of .22 bullets along with some air rifle pellets and tiny buck shot that was a challenge to find, I couldn't be happier with the SL it's just so easy to use and light weight. No gold on this trip but it didn't matter as I know it's there and just a matter of putting the coil over it.
The weekend lived up to how I hoped it would be and I'm very grateful for the generosity of time and knowledge shared by the person who showed me the ropes and can't wait to get another weekend free to venture out again.

It's all a learning experience sounds like time well spent. With any luck the next trip out will have the coil over the gold. Love the enthusiasm.
