Don't forget to grab the seals with the bearings for some stupid reason our local auto shop sold them separately :8. The store has now changed hands and is now a Repco hopefully the bearing sets are now sold as a complete set.

The bearings have a serial no. stamped on them. Then go to supercheap auto and they will supply the new ones. So you will have to remove the old bearings to see what the no. is.

Not quite right Jaros. You mean Part Number. Part number and serial numbers are two different things. :lol:

Also pays to carry a small grinder with cut off wheel as many times with a bad failure bearing inner cone will weld itself to the axle stub. All the spares wont help if you cannot remove the old cone :Y:

Trick for bearings and grease....pre grease the bearing and put heaps on. then use a food vac sealer to suck the air out and it will push the grease into the bearing when the air is extracted and you can seal a set for spare .also put a cup full of grease into a vac bag alsokeeps out the dirt.... erfect:

If you have a spun bearing you would want a hand file and emery stick too if you find lumpy dags of metal stuck in the shaft.

If you get an outer bearing cage siezed and you cant punch or press it out , putting a short run of weld inside them will give enough shrinkage that they will fall out.

Not something you are likely to have on the side of the road though unless you have one of those little 12 Volt car battery powered gasless minispool MIG welders

Tin of Loctite Freeze & Release can get same result as will shrink cone :Y:
