I use a Gemlogis AZURE to test all my stones. The first day I got it I went through my topaz reject bag and found 7 pale sapphires, 3 of those good sized cutters. Out of the box for half a hour and it had paid for itself! :lol:
 
Hello everyone, I also have the same question
Can anyone tell me what these are. They where found in a corrugated drain under a road. I don't think they are of value just interesting

the one on the left looks like quarts that has had all the smaller rocks taken off of it but it has not been washed into a smooth surface.
the one on the right I have no idea about. it was already broken open to expose the middle
 
Agate would be the sort of chalcedony you could practice cutting/carving on without destroying valuable stones(maybe?).
