Wild mint.Quite often my daughter and I go for a walk where I grew up and I pick the mint, screw it up in my fingers and tell her the first settlers used to put it in their billy to flavour their tea. :)
Boot polish is another. There was always some at home as a kid and I used to get into it.I was reacquainted with it in the 90s while in the army.

When I open my freezer the smell of the prospector I caught on my lease last month reminds me I better do something about the four still in the chiller I caught last year.

What's the difference between a red Ferrari and a dead prostitute?

I don't have a red Ferrari in my garage!

The smell of factory/building fires reminds me of a trip I took to India (there was a constant smell of anything and everything being burned).

Smell of a Bush Fire always puts me on edge even though it could be a long way off, it's that gum smoke smell... always rattles my cage and brings back memories of '94

Top of our drive in Sydney, Lane Cove fires. We survived, others didn't, but indelible memories.

X2 on that smell I haven't had it at my back door but I've been in the thick of it and it ain't pretty. The affects of Black Saturday have many on edge around our parts when there's smoke in the air.

My dad's "Old Spice" aftershave and Brut underarm spray come to mind. With many others including wild mustard seed on the side of the road and the local baker with fresh bread.

Same Mackka, Dad passed away two years ago and every time I smell Old Spice I turn around expecting him to be there.

Various parts of my extended family were publicans, so I have a strong memory of the smell of stale beer in the bars - on Sundays, I was allowed to play pool in the closed public bar. The cellars also had a particular smell, although I have not smelt that for a long time now.
