Normally I wouldn't bother responding to such comments but I don't think your post is fair at all. Your comment is basically calling all the contributors of this post morons because they are discussing the current restrictions in place in this state. Your opening statement says it all. You don't understand. Clearly. Without being insulting, without name calling I will try to explain the situation as clearly as I can so that in the future you won't make such outrageous, insulting comments. The virus is not being spread by people playing golf, it is not being spread by people fishing, or detecting to make the point relevant. The virus is not buzzing about flying here and there. It cannot jump off a bush and infect me. The virus is basically being spread by workers employed under casual arrangements. No work, no pay. They are working sick. Aged care workers, meat workers, cleaners. Also there are so many people in the suburbs just not doing the right thing. I know someone who witnessed this first hand. A birthday celebration where the crowd restriction was supposed to be five people. On the property at any one time there were five in the kitchen, five in the living room and five in the garage. They moved and rotated about from one room to another but get this. Every hour or so five would leave and a new group of five would arrive. My source estimates that at least a hundred people circulated through the property for the afternoon. What a disaster if the host was positive??. This is not an isolated incident. The police are busting parties daily. Police checking those that are supposed to be home are finding at least twenty five percent of these people are not staying home. So why ban things that are not causing the spread? Why is the virus creeping into regional areas? Some cases or mini clusters are the result of infected Melbourne residents visiting a relative to render assistance not being aware that their cough or sniffle is the first sign. Some cases have been sparked by uni students returning to the country to do some weekend work in hospitality, cafes etc. causing fellow workers to become infected. Maybe attending a gathering with mates for a few drinks infecting them. The people on this forum wanting to go detecting are not morons. They are very enthusiastic about their hobby and have a better understanding of the situation than you obviously do. If they go detecting and follow the rules set down by the health authorities they pose no risk to anybody. But if someone is sick or has symptoms they should get tested and also stay at home. No one in the previous posts have suggested anyone do that. If they did then you might have some justification for your name calling. You have no right to call anyone names or allude to the fact anyone that has posted something here is a moron. Hopefully my explanation makes sense to you and you can see that your comments are unjustified and the result of your lack of knowledge and understanding. You're free to express an opinion but next time you could try to do it without insulting anyone.Mackka said:I dont understand why anyone in Vic wants to go anywhere and POSSIBLY jeopardise the lives and safety of thousands of others? What is it with you morons?

bob said:It is quite simple RM Outback. But for you it's just another chance to bash the government. By Phase One I guess you are referring to Stage Three brought in back in March. Exercise was the only reason for leaving your home. This was clearly defined as walking, running and cycling. Recreation was not allowed. No fishing, no bowls, no golf, no detecting. These were all classed as recreational activities. The government learned a lot from the first round and realised that recreational activities can easily be carried out without risking virus spread. If people follow the guidelines of distancing golf, bowls, kayaking, horse riding, archery heaps of stuff can be done with little or no risk. Also being able to take part in recreational activities is good for mental health. So the new Stage Three firstly applied to Melbourne and the Mitchell Shire four weeks ago looked slightly different. The ruling was changed to read Exercise and Recreation. You should know this because you are in the Mitchell Shire and it is your responsibility to know what is allowed. Now those Stage Three restrictions are being applied state wide. I wouldn't recommend detecting for two especially if that other person does not live with you. If you must go with some one else I would suggest you travel in separate cars. It would be pretty stupid to arrange a day detecting and spend half an hour to forty minutes sitting next to a potential source of infection. Stage three restrictions require golfers to not share buggies so I do not think you should share a car going out detecting. I hope that clarifies the situation for you RM. Stage three won't bother you anyway as you're mostly too busy working to go detecting. It's not as simple as just being able to go detecting. You need to be careful about where you go. Your favourite spot at Whroo is out of bounds as it is in another Shire (Strathbogie I think) and not considered local to you. If you are unsure of a council boundary Geovic allows you to add this overlay to your map.
Cheers Bob.
