For example, if you want to keep the clay material tumbling longer you can level out the drum and if your processing river wash, increase the incline to run it through quicker as it breaks up and washes faster.
no mate thats a preset level for such a large size drum the whole unit will end up with 4 adjustable legs for centering ,i have an old clay trommel that takes a load of dirt and holds it for however long you desire the only down side ive found, is if you dont keep large rocks in with the mix you can actually make a clay ball and as that puppy goes rolling around in the bottom of the barrel it picks up all the fine gold and rolls on out your over size, which is usually why i only use 2" fire fighting pumps, the water pressure is so high once its been forced through slots and or small holes it dosnt give the clay a chance to ball, the large trommel that is trailer mounted was supposed to be a double barrel trommel clay treating one side and alluvials the other, then once you have broken down your clays you could simply tip it up and then feed it through the alluvials side and process it as per your normal dirt without having to stop and start different sections, but alas i have fallen short on the coin again so i have decided to keep them seperate and put together two indervigual trommels, still some ways off yet though,i'll have to take a photo of the pulley set up i designed it basicly allows the barrel to continue spinning whilst its being elevated one end to tip out the processed clays,at the same time allowing the belts to remain on the pulley and continually rotating the barrel, built not tested though could end up like the old Wright bro's plane. 8)
