Those are truly frightening looking!
I'm glad I'm a safe distance away, over here on the left coast. 🌤️
They are sci fi looking stuff aren't they. Its like some Alien invasion movie scenes. Lady here we know said one friend from near Minyip got 50 mil in 20 minutes. Crazy as we are just 30 minutes from there and the weather was calm and warm and we just got a shower or two between 11pm and 1am.

They certainly are! Maybe it's just CGI? :)
Yeah I know what you mean. I reckon the pics were real but those taking them enhanced a bit. Colours. But the shapes iv seen in real life before.
Storm cells do look apocalyptic in real life, seen a number of them and I have some great friends in the US, Florida in particular in regards to storms, and some straight up pictures from recent hurricanes are frightening. After the hurricane other storm cells rolled in.
I have seen those circular cells in Central Vic. Maybe 20 yrs ago, one cut a swathe of destruction from Avoca across Campbeltown past Newstead where my late parents used to live. My parents house in Newstead, was ridiculously spared. Every huge 20 to 30 meter Gumtree around the house fell. But in criss cross. Tree to the left, tree to the right, house in tact between it all with just one gutter torn off. When I got there the next day I was dumbfounded they dodged the bullet as Id warned them for years "hey let's get these cut down". They really can and do look like that.

Farmers taking a pounding at the worst time of the season, poor devils. It must be just heartbreaking for them. 😢
Yeah mate. We moved to the Wimmera just two days ago. Talked to a lady today who said they got smashed from those storms.
Those cells went all around us on the day we moved here and it was like "ok the weather BOM got it wrong" It was perfect for us, even the removal guy said "well good it didn't turn out like they said". Seems we were in a calm pocket because later I saw that stuff and searched to see if it was real. We moved in the calm before the storm.

devastating more times than not ,especially with harvest not far away or already started
vege, grain ,fruit crops, nature does not spare anyone when she has a hissy fit
and unfortunately the farmer is left to pick up the pieces
some with buggerall income for the next year ,like all the fruit growers 1 harvest a year

that's right bully they are hit and miss
years ago here one hit ,i have never seen luvre windows bend that much and not break or release from the frame
the whole main road from bundy to gin gin along our property boundary was about 2 foot thick(deep ) of tree branches on the road the traffic was at a stand still
the next day i checked out the damage
we had buggerall to the house, ridge capping ripped off never found , and the east side wall of the shed was blown off never seen again

but what shocked me was found about 60 meters from the house
3 foot diameter blood woods and iron bark trees twisted off(perfect cork screw from the ground to where it was broken off) between 5 and approx. 10 foot from the ground the rest of the tree never to been seen again

we had whole canopies of blue ,grey box ,blue top gum trees (approx.) 60 to 80 foot high trees speared through the tree canopies of the still standing trees on our block
we do not have any blue, grey box or blue top box gum trees on our property

but a mates place 3km west of me on the same road did not even get a breath of ill wind ,how it works
rang him that night, but he said he heard it but had no wind at his place
so when old mother nature has a hissy fit watch out
