I'm sure there's better, here's some encouragement.

There is nothing like a good storm except when it causes over 500 million in damage(so far). I went down to check my Renault Traffic van 6 days after the storm we had and it needs lots of hail dimples removed all over the front and roof. Thank god i have a $800-00 excess on my insurance policy.
Jaros
:p

Excellent pictures! I got stuck riding home in that Sydney stuff on Fri arvo. Got peppered by hail, but it was the lightening that was freaking me out lol

That photo should be entered into competition

I sat and watched this storm roll in over the CBD, luckily the building I was on didn't have any storm clouds above me lol

yours Danmuss, but with an alien spaceship photo shopped into the cloud(haha)

My young fella is getting good at tweaking pictures now !

Constipation ramification at 3am this morning in the central west NSW.
Yes sir ree!..this caused an instant trouser browser right there on my sisters porch.

Just to the left of this pic is the sister bolt which was just out of frame.....if you could only imagine the BANG created as this storm was right on top of us.

This one came in the second storm at around 5am...got about ten new lightning shots after not getting anything worthy during the last week of storm activity.

I have many shots of lightning, just love it......but knowing the danger of this is paramount.

What camera and what settings did you use to capture this ?

Simplest way is to just do a properties read out on the actual photo, rather than try and remember what setting i use. ;)
Settings and filters change constantly when looking for certain effects....no photoshop or any other programs used to manipulate the pics.
These ones were taken with the Panasonic G3....brought new when released for around $1000......now seen on ebay for $200
The other camera i use is a pocket point and shoot 12x zoom costing around $600 when first released, which was the Panasonic TZ7. Seen on ebay for less than $100 now.

My sister has a budget Fuji finpix that can also turn out top images...you don't need big money cameras to take a good pic, just a little knowledge that can be had from reading info on the net.
Properties box of the first pic above.

This shot was taken no sooner did i step out of my caravan door a couple of yrs back. I couldn't get back in the c/van fast enough due to being overwhelmed with fright.
