Sorry to say but Rita has passed away.
After a long battle she lost her 10 year fight with Cancer.
For those who do not know, Rita was the president of the PMAV
for 30 years and was instrumental in fighting for Prospectors
Rights in Victoria and one of Her big wins was the Iron Bark Forrest
Rally.

Rita was also a life member of NAPFA NSW.

Our thoughts and Prayers are with her Family and Friends.

We will miss you Rita and continue to fight for our rights and Freedoms
in Prospecting and Fossicking.

Thank You to those who already knew this and did not broadcast until her
Husband was OK with it.

Rita was an inspiration to us all for her dedication and determination in support of small scale mining and prospecting. Rita had 2 Life Memberships under her belt NAPFA & the PMAV. She was also awarded the Jim Stewart Memorial Trophy for her dedication to prospecting. The PMAV, John Winters award, also for her dedication to prospecting. This year, Rita was recognized by the Australian Government for her outstanding achievement over her live time by being awarded the Order of Australia Medal in this years Queen's Birthday honors list. She was well respected by many Politicians from both sides of the House. She even stood for Government at one stage in the State Elections. Rest In Peace Lovely Lady, your work is now done.
