Went out to some Alluvial grounds for a swing today.
No gold but found some interesting brass thingies.
Anyone know what they are?
I was thinking from a saddle.
They were buried next to each other about 2 inches down.
No marks or writing on them.
They appear to be handmade.

the rivets are too small to have gone through leather and too short to have gone into timber

leather needs a more broad head

so probably fastened to steel / tin whatever they were

They are possibly points on the top of a set of cobb & co. Timber Haimes. That fitted around a horse collar
or points on a set of sulky harness that was encased in harness leather to carry the reins.
nailed onto timber then wet soaked in leather they will not move.

after reading Headsup reply set of dunny roll holders rivoted to the thunder box maybe.
