I am planning a day trip to Tuena next weekend with the XP deus for a general search around , coins ect,
I have been there panning once before not long ago but only at the creek below camp,
Can anyone give me directions to the Chinese diggings as I'd like to try there with the three young boys.
Cheers.

sorry didnt see this yesterday mate, by the late 1800s the creek had been worked and re worked about 3 times, the island known as lizzies now was once a Chinese garden (sorry dont remember the mans name that tended the garden) for the food markets/stores, could be worth a look, but you could strike it lucky anywhere around there to be honest, best of luck and let us know how you get on with it
cheers

Chinese diggings are always thoroughly cleaned out .

The only time they left gold behind is if there was conflict in the camps ( raids , beatings and murders ) , or disease which caused them to pack up and run.

You are better off closer to the road or up near limestone ( east of the store ) ,especially if you have kids .
