Does the Trilobite app cover the Tibooburra area as well?
yes it does, for the basic subscription you get all the maps for there and for that matter all of Aussie and NZ, if you want the mining leases for each state you pay a bit extra and only pay for the state you want, we just get the ones for WA but you can get that for every state if you pay for every states mining leases map coverage

This is a screen shot from my phone for Tibooburra as an example, the pink dots and pink lines are trails and gps points that I recorded and saved

Yes, but you can actually have Two (2) overlays going at the same time and the red slide bar juggles between them, I can have the Bedrock Geology in say the top one and the Simple Geology in the Green one down the LH side, or you can have a different combo all together, some times I might have the satellite over lay in one and the Geo layer in the other. Or when in WA for eg I will have the live leases for WA in one of the overlays and a Geo map in another overlay and the red slide bar can be part way across so you can see both the live leases and the geo map at the same time, it's very good

There's no legends on the 100k or 250k geo maps palmerston,we'll not for wa at least,if it's the same in your neck of the woods maybe buy a cuppla paper maps as a base reference until your familiar with it all.
The simple geology layers in wa do give you a describition of the formations if you press on them,ya get the type of geology and age.
If you have the bedrock geo layer available it's another good one,it won't take you long to get familiar with the faults and shears etc there easy to interpret,it's there shape, proximity and sometimes what they border over here that makes a difference on occasions.....

Press and hold the little icon at the bottom left of the screen - circled in black in the photo. It should light up green like the icon above it - circled in red.

It should mark your trail as in the photo. Sometimes though, if it is not locking onto satellites often enough it will show straight lines between random points that you’ve been (at least that is why I assume it straight lines sometimes ).

Hope that helps 👍

Does anyone know how to keep recording the track without the screen being active?
I set the trail to record and it will for the amount of time I have the app open. If my mobile times out and goes to black screen, it appears that the app stops recording my trail?
I have a Samsung A23 Smart phone and the current Trilobite version
Thanks in advance

Have a look in your phone's Settings menu (the cog wheel icon) for Apps (the icon is a blue circle with 4 white dots that looks like a button), then scroll down the list of apps and select Trilobite. The menu there should have an option that lets you set Android to keep the app running when the phone goes to standby (he said hopefully, not having Trilobite on his own phone 🤞).

Yep, I use Apple and it is same, same but different. iPhones ask you if you allow the App to track you 'Never', 'Whilst the app is open' or 'Always'. When I know I will be using it all day I choose 'Aways'. It even tracks you whilst in Flight Mode. Placing it in Flight Mode (especially in remote places) saves heaps of battery.

👍
