Got out with old mate for a hunt this arvo for a while until dark.
Found a coupla good targets worth pulling from the ground.

Was stuck in some hardpack B5, it's thinning out a bit, but still adhering to the coin, hard as, but just not quite cement (luckily). :lol:

Still got it soaking in water Dave, trying to soften it up over a little time, see how it conforms to that first. It's down to near all off except the final clingy stuff holding to the face of the coins contours. 8)

Working on that Florin from the 11th Dec this morning.
This was it so far just from water soaking to remove what could soften over time

Tried some bicarb, but it didn't really do much for it ,.... so I CAB'ed it for a while.

Once it had been CAB'ed the bicarb was able to do a fair bit of work.

I've popped it back into CAB to work on those last bits.

Hey Silver nice coin but I have a question- Does the coin return to its original colour ie tainted over a period or does it stay bright and clean?

In 50 years Makka, you won't be able to tell, it'll heve a nice patina, provided it's ph is left neutral after cleaning and it's treated like a collector coin ,..... this is my opinion only, I've not actually seen one cleaned after 50 years, but it does stand to reason that it should be so.

CAB again for a few hours and then Bicarbonate Paste (BP).
(still a small mark near the R in FLORIN)
