All finds type threads have to start somewhere Rod H, and at least they were round shaped like a coin (if it happened lol) ,.... find some quiet dirt for a test bed and place the different type targets down that you have been finding a few feet apart in a line, and also place down the coin types you want to find as well the same, then adjust your discrimination a notch at a time while you check them all, eventually some targets should discriminate out leaving you with some rubbish targets and some good targets, thats gunna be about as good as it gets for you, but, take note of the needle as well, as you may discern some differences with the targets that will help you in the field, like the double movement of wire or nails (but also rings)(or ring shaped objects) ,.... anyway, lay the stuff down n have a play, n write down the details for all your targets so you can begin to learn your machine in a way that will help you find the things you want ,... you will still find crap too like the rest of us, but, if you save all your coin finds + throw 10$ a week in the tin too, you will be able to upgrade before you know it to a slightly more modern machine, good to learn on a needle machine sometimes, as it gives your brain a different type of detectorists kick start to the norm. :Y:
