Yes there is a big story behind these finds,
and thats the best find of all.
I got 1 hell of a story to tell
But Not yet tho, Please.
today I found a 12.24 I am over the moon.
and frike I a drinken right now, It took me years of detecting
to find, and thats from the early days of detectors
An old story told to me by an old lady, bless her soul.
she was not quite correct, as storys had built over them 130 years or more years,
But Im sure old betty has a smile.
what can I say.
Frike I put the time in.
its a high five dudes.

very suspenseful but what is a 12.24 ??

casper

very suspenseful but what is a 12.24 ??

I like the button on the left. It looks very unique.
im wondering what a 12.24 is as well. Is that a target id or something or what else?
Is that a musket ball on the right? early-mid 1800s?
What era is this brooch button and musket ball from? Do you think?

12.24 target id, yes, for the brooch emblem.
The .52 is a muscat ball I need help ID en the type of gun that fired it
I think a Colt revolver.
"When I am ready".
then I will get on to muscat ball finds as I have mapped
and have unearth sorted and "there" pattern of fire.
They date to a 20 year, before the items that you see that I have posted.

There are 2 different layers in the area, 20 years appart.
In looking for lead I stumbled across this.
all brooch and pin finds were lost in 1870 in a 2 or 3 day sporting event.
This event was lost in time and its location,

but not now as I have found
enough items to confirm it and its location,
The cricket brooches they are a great find and I am on the net with pro help on them.
This event was strange in that the way it was held, Who was this cricket traveller.
all the items are made in and around Wolverhampton, tha top brooch cricketer is around 1840s 1850s.
and looks to me that this cricketer played in the UK, or Im thinking his ancestors played and so did he.
I will post some more pics of items in a hope that you on this fourm can help
with there id there use.
A history that was lost, not any more its not.
Please help with ids on items.

This was out of the way a bit an unexpected find, same area tho.

1860 penny.
and I use a ctx3030, nice detector that.
ezy to use, and it is very good on discrimination,
real sharp on coins.

 love the handwork on the 10carrot pendant. Just waiting for your sovereign to show up now.

You have certainly hit a site full of history. Must be awesome wondering what will come out of the ground next.

 Damn ... More awesomeness
What a hot spot you have
Cant wait for the full story on this place
Looking forward to the next and possibly more exciting finds
