Today I found half an ounce of yellow and gave it away :D

It's all good guys. the warmest feeling is seeing the one's who had their goodies returned, have the greatest smile on their faces, this says what no amount of words could ever say.

Glad you got your wallet back Billy. Kemjack, what can I say? You get them but at least your conscience is clear, you did the right thing.

quick story from way back while I was working the "wilds". We had a sting which went horribly wrong. The actual bust was to be a day away and my partner and I were in the ceiling of a house, trying to conduct surveillance when he accidentally saw his foot go right through the ceiling.

To cut a long story short, after much shooting and plenty of bodies lying scattered around, we were faced with millions of $$$, a variety of cocaine and other delecasies and not a soul in place. It was tempting I admit but we got the troops in and everything got counted and taken in.

Today, when I go to interviews and the interviewer asks about accepting bribes etc and how I would respond, I just smile :D

As for getting my reward for yesterday's matter, I was at the casino today, just for lunch and to watch the cup when I was given a drink by the waiter. I had no idea who it was from and asked the waiter, he smiled and pointed to a group of very lovely ladies hahahaha. Thank God there are semi-blind people in this world :D

I was driving to work one day along Mamrae Rd and spotted a redback blowing down the road so what else could I do but stop to pick it up.
On stopping I found it had come from a wallet, the contents of which were spread all over the road.
Anyway at great danger to myself dodging the traffic I picked up all his cards etc and put it all back in the wallet.
I looked up his phone number when I got to work and got on to his wife.
He came and picked it up through the day and gave me the twenty.
Turns out he left it on the roof of his car when he left for work that morning.
Feels good when something like that happens. :D

I've heard people doing that before, good on ya mate, it is a great feeling isn't it? The smile on their faces are priceless :D

One of my finds was a mobile phone i picked up on the road, the phone was smashed but I thought I would contact the owner so they at least got their SIM card back

Losing SIM card contacts can be a headache , or if you have business advertising linked to that number the cost can be astronomical.

Turned out the woman didn't care about the smashed phone OR the SIM card , but she was extremely relieved to retrieve the memory card from her phone .

Dunno what was on it :)

Didn't look . Not my business :)

Ps to contact the owner of a smashed phone you just put their sim in a spare phone and text "mum" in their contact list with a message you found that phone , which might seem a little invasive but there is no other way

Well done Gav, it is always great to read about these honest acts in our world today where "respect & honesty" are no longer in the dictionary.
I'll bet there has been at least one person who you have told this story and they replied? "Would have put it in my pocket and walked away."

Good luck out there, you have earned it.

Peter

Hi Peter, surprisingly enough everyone was happy for the owner and said they would have definitely done the same. Finding a wad of cash is exciting but if you know who it belongs to then that does change everything. We don't know whether the money was to pay for urgent medical bills or to catch up for rent etc, so it's a satisfying feeling getting it back to the person who owns it :D

Imagine the headache it would be to loose all your cards and have to replace them.
The card he was most stressed about was his contractors card which theoretically would stop him from working.

Definitely, that's his bread and butter and it takes time to have them replaced and while waiting, he wouldn't be able to do much.

From a bloke who lost his wallet in Vic with all the usual cards and just over $300 (Whist looking for gold  ) Then had the pain in the ass situation of going back to NSW to get cards issued (Sooner we have a national licence & rego the better  ).

I'd like to say your spot on mate, well done and good onya :) I hope the sun shines on you from all angles or at least you see some shine the next time ya prospecting.

Regards Dal
