Finally got the clutch in my gold truck, Subaru L ;will feel a lot safer than the falcon when it rains while your at that favourite spot. Has been a real battle, pulled the motor out so I could do other repairs at the same time. Rear crank shaft oil seal, spiggot bearing, water pump, timming belt check, manifold gaskets, when't fairly smooth, but took 2 months. Having a motivation - energy crisis. Have to get out and find some colour to pep me up.
Cheers LL

I put the handles back on a door that I painted :D ,...took years to paint the door :8 , and five minutes to put the handles back on  (so it can be closed and locked now). ;)

Now that's what I call progress silver :D

I'm gunna start on another door soon,... just done the hallway(that was a walk through job). :D

Clutches are a sore point on all the older "L" Subaru 4 x 4s. I have replaced the clutch in every one I owned (4 all up, 1977, 1980, 1981, 1986 models) Pulling the motor out was always the best way to do subaru clutches ;) Lift out and sit it on a couple of old tyres and away ya go.

Its one of those "one day and a dozen beers jobs" :p ;)

Great little cars though especially once the dual range was introduced in the 1981 models although I never had anything good to say about the upgraded EA81 motor in the final "L" series which changed from OHV to SOHC. It was rubbish and prone to all sorts of issues. They were also much harder to work on compared to the OHV.
Thankfully for some reason they kept the OHV EA81 engine in the Brumbies right to the end.

There were and still are heaps of EA81 motors with over 400,000 klms on them still going strong. That is almost unheard of for a 4 cylinder.

My lawnmower lust makes the big (i'm never gunna start again)sound when i pull the cord,.... I'm still whipper snippin the whole place(when I do it),... I'll have to rip it open and peer into its guts I think. :D

Fixing my Sons Surfboard...

Who would have thought - Balsa wood / Epoxy / Foam / Polly and different weights and the different resins and glass .

Then do not talk about paint / colour.

Did a small paint job (two part marine) and frig me it reacts and will not set. Now I have to scrape off and sand and clean and try again...

Bloody Students with NO $ and a DAD who will try his hand at any thing...

Off to the park.. Will take a crow bar and an Auger and see what happens when I did a big plug for that 5c piece...
