This is the finished item, Stainless steel scoop from Stavr scoops, in the Ukraine, this one is called the envirotractor, more like a bloody frontend loader bucket with holes if you ask me, it's awesome
Will a threepence fall through that ?

No idea, give me it's measurement at it's broadest point & I will tell you.

Just a smidge under 17mm, I thought they were smaller than that, funny what you find out when you really have to look !

The hole in my scoop, are 12mm & 8mm
Thank you Gadgrtman45, that makes it a great coin scoop, mine is wearing a bit thin on the front edge.

today i bought a helicpter
Yep Ive got a few of them but only brave enough to fly the ARDrone. For all the guys that were at Nundle, I managed to get the parts to fix it. $20 and 5 minutes. I do have some great video though but alas it is a BIG file. Too big for the forum.

Hi John

Can you post it on Utube and send us the link? Maybe WalnLiz can offer some advice on how that can be done. Would love to see it.

Just a thought.

Cheers Monty

PS I got the hiking sticks - thanks for the info. :)

A couple of Firestone airbag helpers that insert inside the rear coil springs .thought it might help a little as we will be loaded up for the big trip to the top end-----
Can't believe the prices in the NT-----not cheap to do anything !!!

Pete

you can buy the airbag kits on ebay now

I was just looking at them 5 minutes ago in fact , checking out whether i can use them to raise the height when doing river crossings then drop back down again to normal road height with one valve.

didnt find any such thing for the front though :/ might have to make my own.

Heads up you can get a set with an on board compressor that you can control from the dash.
Would save a lot of stopping to inflate or vise versa.
From what I've hear the blue firestones are more durable than the red ones whoever makes those.
I thought they were available for the front as well.

depends if you have IFS ( independant front suspension ) or solid axle

solid axle fronts could be done , even if its just as assisted only but IFS is a different story

other problem is the airbags are generally only made to give a few inches stroke whereas i would like to get at least 6 inches travel

a leaf spring could handle that transition from normal ride height to river mode as long as you have longer brake lines to match and check your driveshaft universal joint angle

raising a front diff 6 inches might produce problems though due to the short driveshaft there , might not be enough spline stroke :/

2 Inch lift and you will be supprised how much further you go without the winch, and good tyres

I got myself a B.E.S.T. inline water filter. Supposed to remove 99% of all the bugs, bacteria, sediment etc.
Has silver ,charcoal,& 1 micron filter inside.
At $120 each I hope it does!

I've heard that "pure/filtered" water goes pretty well with a good nip of Glenlivet, great for those Winter evenings around the campfire :D

Gedday there Redfin .. I've been looking for one of these .. Thanks for the link mate!
