A few questions have been asked about weights, deciphering old mining reports, quartz to gold crushings etc. Hope this helps in unlocking the code. Remember, an ounce of gold is a troy ounce as opposed to a normal ounce. Normally grams to ounce = 28.35 grams. A troy ounce = 31.1048 grams, hence the reason we usually weigh our gold in grams.
