They are on the heavy side yes, but you got to get your setup right and spend time getting used to her.

For she is a beast no doubt and will bring great rewards to those who persevere.

I find the swing stick is the way to go but you must have a pick holder on your belt to free up the other hand.
You cant carry the pick over the shoulder like i prefer when using the stick.

The pro swing harness is ok, but my back starts to groan a bit after about 3 hours constant.

I sit down, have a smoke break, think about my path, then its back on the hunt

Regards

Agree totally, I found once I had the swing stick combo working it went well. With just the bungy it was too heavy too push the coil in the sweep all the time. She certainly is a beastie.

Spoke to the guy last night , was considering doing the SDC trade with cash , he has sold it subject to inspection and purchased an SDC second hand from VIC , just too heavy was his reasoning and suggested I hold a 7000 before buying.

Cheers

LOL that is very funny. My SDC with speaker, booster and cover onboard is a tad heavier than the ZED.

With my Camelbak Mule, supplied bungy and using the swing stick, the ZED is virtually weightless.

Must admit I thought something similar Redfin , I don't consider the SDC a light machine by any means , still no issue for a full days detecting though with a decent bungy

try swinging a fully blinged 5000 for 8 hours

maybe some cement is needed ;)

It's A Shame that these Guy's Are Selling their ZEDs because there are people here that are still learning their 5000s after 6 months, and I think it is a bit Soon to be selling them On when they have not been given A Chance yet which it Sad really because it's only been on the Market for 25 days, I think it's more about panic after spending that much Doe, I think we all expected Pounds of nuggets as did the Owners every time they Head Out, Even the Testers took a while to settle in to this machine and they are a lot more well Versed than most, Not only that after all the Hype that has have not helped with people and now they are disappointed,

I hope they give it a chance because there is enough Brains here to help them get through this.

I do not believe that the weight is the real reason, I think that the wife find out, like some one else suggested, my 5000 wireless with the buster, speaker with an 17" coil weight 3.8Kg and I have no problem swinging 7/8 hours, I wear the harness and hipstick.
Cheers

I wouldn't jump over a ZED to get to you OH
I'd love a ZED of my own, but can't justify the cost.
Besides, I'm not enchanted by the concept of digging metre deep holes to recover 2gm nuggets.
So, for the time I'll stick with the SDC, and maybe buy your old 5000 when you upgrade to that ZED :p

I am with you Rusty, I would love one but for the $$ 8.( $$

The only difference; I would dig more than a meter for a decent bit of yellow. :p

The SDC is a great machine but the depth advantage of the GPZ has me tossing in my sleep. Darn gold fever !!!
