Got the Etrex 30 12 mths ago-yet to be used.!!!!
Jaros,.... why don't you team up with a mate and just do the watching and guiding,....even if you have to do that from the car mate,.... or,.... get your missus swinging and digging for you, while you are still in recovery mode. I bet you've got some full on research done already on some hot spots while you havn't been able to use your pegs properly. :D

I have just completed my Coxwain Cert1 and 2..and have begun volunteering at the Manly Coastguard on Moreton Bay Qld. It was a lot harder than i thought but i have refreshed my First Aid Cert. and and CPR, plus now am able to use a defibrillator if necessary.
I have had a boat licence for years and just being out in the sun and on water is fantastic. I still have a lot of knots to learn as well as many other marine qualifications to work on and it is a satisfying thing to do as we are rostered on 1 day per month plus volunteer days if you want to. I am doing 2 this week just to get into the workings of the place. We have some great boats in service. Look up QF2 Manly Volunteer Rescue on Google if you like.
Jaros :p

That looks like a good lot of great times Jaros,... and you get to drive boats and use thermal imaging cameras too,... good on ya mate.
great times and giving back to the community and a chance to help save lives all rolled into one.
Comendable use of time. :D

Yes, a very worthy way to spend my idle time. Oh there is some great sightseeing as well.... :8 :8 . one for each!!
Makes me wish i still had my 4.75 Stacer Easyrider 75 hp Merc---got rid of it due to lack of use 2 yrs ago.
OK back to the Dangers of Prospecting!!!!
See Ya.

The latest coming from the USA is to the music of staying alive, which is ironic in title, however almost everyone knows the beat, here a few videos showing the concept.

As there are no breaths I am not sure on the concept, but I would suggest the pressure on the chest causes small exhales and inhales ?

If you haven't done a First Aid course this may be the best video you watch?

The last first aid course I did was 6 months ago here in qld and was no breaths just compressions, I quizzed the instructor due to the course some years prior was 30/2 and she said the belief now is the compressions move enough air in and out to suffice.
She also said whatever you can remember is also good as something is better than nothing.

Just had a thought about being in the bush and finding your way back to camp etc.Is there any reason why one couldn't mark trees with a white board texta because they wash off and you wouldn't be detecting in the rain anyway most times.

As far as rain goes it won't bother the 2300 just the operator. Your better off with a compass / GPS, if in remote locations an EPIRB or similar. I wouldn't rely on a white board marker, even in the experienced hands of a teacher they didn't help me much

My mate gets lost in his toilet, he doesn't wander far from camp or vehicle however places pieces of quartz in trees to show him the way back.
