That happens so often, doesn't it. I hear that a guy in Tassie won 50,000 in scratchies years ago. Re-invested it in quickpics and lost it all!!!@@#$$

my 2 sisters bought some scratchy's about 2 years ago and won $35,000.
would never have believed that type of cash prize are in there but its true!.... wish it was me 8)

About a dozen of us at work put in $10 a week each for lotto, Oz lotto etc. A couple of times we have got a couple hundred at the end of the year but usually not much. Been doing it over ten years. Imagine if we had saved and invested all that money!!!!

Many years ago - probably about 20, I got second prize in lotto.
I watched the draw, and got one number, then the second, then the third. I started to get interested, and got the fourth number.
Then I was all attention, and low and behold got number 5. I was really excited and thought I'd won. That did not last long, because the sixth number was a dud. I did get the second supplementary number (only one I remember - 19), and won around $5,700. This came in handy as we had not long bought our first house. We still have the lounge suite that we spent part of the winnings on.
That kind of thing sure gets the pulse racing, at least for a while.

too bad it didn't happen 30+ odd years ago instead as 2nd prize could buy a house before they changed the prize pool size.

5 numbers and the power ball
I was thinking big yes 2nd division $30k to me!!

I find out that 2nd division is 6 straight numbers no power ball!
I was not happy as statistically the odds at pulling the power ball is 45 to 1 vs the 6th ball at 40/1
I got $3k odd for 3rd div better than nothing.
