I talk to myself, I'm the only one that listens.
I guess talking to yourself is not really a madness thing, I guess it could possibly be calming and reassuring to say a few words to yourself. But say for instance if you just kept typing to yourself on say a thread in an internet forum it would sort of prove that there was a bit of instability there and maybe one should seek help for such a disorder.
I talk to myself while beach detecting, people keep their distance when they hear you.

I'm always swearing at myself or giving myself a good talking to after doing something stupid.
They reckons it's no drama until you start answering yourself.
I live with wife & 2 x daughters so sometimes I'm the only one who makes any sense around here :lol:

When looking for an expert opinion on one's own stupidity I find it best to talk to myself, swearing and abuse can be very theraputic.
I don't have to talk to myself as I have several voices in my head talking to me.

I had a year long online romance with this lovely lady I met on a facebook forum.
We had so much in common from music tastes to places we'd been to places we wanted to visit etc..etc.. It seemed we were made for each other, two peas in a pod.
I'd never really been one to use that term "soul mate" it seems to get used way to much, maybe up until then I just hadn't found mine.
But it seemed to fit, and although we'd never physically met or even spoken on the phone we found ourselves genuinely falling in love with each other.
I can remember many late nights at the keyboard together, well into the wee hours and though I wont go into the raunchy details, I'll just say a good time was had by both of us.
When the first anniversary of our meeting came, we decided at long last we should exchange photos and phone numbers.
I sat there staring at the new message with a paper clip icon, working up the courage to click on it, and wondering if she was doing the same.
Finally I hit open. It was then I realized it was the fake profile I made two years ago to spy on my kids.
Broken hearted, I dumped myself.

I know I shouldn't listen to the voices in my head, but sometimes they have really good ideas {)

When anyone has a crack at me for doing it I simply say "I'm the only smart person in the room worth bloody talking to so nick off"
I have heard it said..by some eminent scientists that the sound waves we create when we speak,continue on into infinity..however faint they maybe!...much like a radio wave...and that someday it may be possible to re-capture those sounds....the voice of Caesar,Jesus, Buddha etc.for instance.So is it possible that we may be able to ..subconsciencly pick up on those 'sounds'...with which we have a constant dialogue?....I wonder.
